THE CLEANING COMPANY BURNED MY MARBLE FLOOR WITH CHEMICALS.
CAN IT BE FIXED?
Marble reacts to acidic spills by leaving the surface rough, which results in a dull surface. This is apparent on honed floors but more pronounced on a highly polished floor.
Ernesto from Hartland, WI found us on the Internet and asked us to come out and fix an edge to his foyer marble floor where his cleaning company used a strong chemical to clean the baseboards and damaged the shine. His beautiful home was going on the market and he just wanted us to fix the damage right away.
We came in and quickly fixed the damage by restoring that area of the floor bringing it to a high polish. The process of restoring acid-etching is to scratch off the damaged surface and then bring it up to a polish by using different grits of diamond-impregnated resin pads , ending with a marble polish.
We, at Marble Renaissance, measure the results of our work through the reflection we bring back to polished surfaces. That’s why our logo is a light arrow bouncing off a marble surface. It symbolizes reflectance. See the clearer and more defined reflection in the stone above after we restored it eliminating the acid-etching?
